Our story
Starting from a quiet evening, two friends enjoying a glass of wine and a simple curiosity. We began to see the liqueur in the glass with different eyes and to be interested, for the first time, in its aroma and taste, in its qualities. Enough to make us curious about what lies behind this drink, to discover the story.
As once stated by the great Spanish artist Salvador Dali, "He who knows how to taste, does not drink wine but savors secrets."
There are many who love wine, and there are more and more who want to understand it better, to know how to appreciate it. Wine itself is an art. The flavor. The bouquet. The pleasure. The technique. These are the ones who make the difference.
Wine is about time - it is said that wine gets better over time. That it becomes tastier and more precious. We believe that wine is also about the time you spend discovering the world in different ways. Because wine paves the way. We listen to stories, we debate ideas, concepts.
Wine is about people – it is about the people we share it with. About those who make
us appreciate him. About dear people. About stories. About memories. About plans. About quality moments.
We created MYWONDERWINE to bring the stories of the Romanian Wines closer to you!
Did you know…?
Did you know...?
The habit of clashing the glasses is coming from ancient Rome. This was done so that people would be assured they won’t get poisoned. Droplets would jump from one glass to the other and if it contained any poison, it would’ve mixed with the person who tried poisoning the others. In ancient Greece, the host would drink firstly, in order to show that the liquor wasn’t poisoned.
Did you know...?
One of the things that you
can say about wine, by only looking at its colour, is the climate region that the grapes are coming from. Heavier nuances of the wine, mostly red wine, and darker more pronounced yellow for the white wine, result in grapes coming from a hotter climate. While the ones with lighter nuances of colour mean that they come from a colder climate.
Decanter points. What do they mean?
A wine score is the quickest, simplest way for a wine critic to communicate their opinion about the quality of a wine. Often found alongside tasting notes, wine scores help consumers and collectors decide which wines to buy. Wines are organised for tasting by country, region, colour, grape, style, vintage and price. This ensures that wines are judged in flights against their peers. Decanter World Wine Awards has judges from around the world, including Masters of Wine and Master Sommeliers, and many of them are the foremost experts in their field. Check our awarded wines.
